Doctrina Christiana Deconstructed: Unpacking Colonialism & Scripts is an exploration authored by Kristian Kabuay, an artist and authority on pre-Philippine scripts. This book takes readers through an intimate journey into Kabuay’s personal encounters, from covertly viewing the only copy of the Doctrina at the Library of Congress to his interactions with the Philippine diaspora, while also tracing the evolution of the Badlit/Baybayin script and its cultural implications. In a fusion of historical study and deep introspection on cultural identity, this narrative concludes with a call for ongoing discussions about cultural preservation and identity in the aftermath of colonialism. Included in the book are scans of the original text of the 1593 book.
